With unrivalled clarity and great dynamics, the Surfari set mimics the earliest of Stratocaster sounds - right back to the mid 50s. The Alnico 3 magnets also make for a solid mid-range, with less "scoop" than more modern magnets.
The Surfari set uses rod magnets with our "Modified Vintage Stagger" allowing for great string to string balance on a wide range of instruments.
Each pickup is fully wax potted to reduce any microphonic feedback, and comes supplied with screws, latex height adjustment tubing and an installation guide.

My Tonerider experience began with Rebel 90s for an astonishing result (in a Korina LP), so I decided to replay the game with a Surfari set for an alder body/rosewood fingerboard neck strat : same player shoot again !
These Surfari's are very open with an exceptional blend of clarity, sensitivity and life for a huge "foot tapping" experience.
They gives an authentic 50's strat sound, with a lot of rhythm and delicacy, feeding the desire to play, play, play...
Tonerider has definitely vaccinated me against expansive "snobbish" boutique PUP's.

Bought the Surfari Strat set for a new project (Strat partscaster ) Will be a few months before I've finished the neck and body but mounted them on the new scrathplate with its new pots etc. and stuck them on an existing Strat for evaluation. I'm very pleased with the tonal response both individually and paired selections. Throughly recommend
