Great pickups

City Limits certainly growl when needed but clean up as well for glassy cleans.

City Limits - Middle Pickup

As per title this will refer only to the middle pickup, which I've chosen to pair up with a Tonerider Generator Set on an HSH full upgrade project. This little single coil made me literally love position 3 (middle pickup on its own) - it is a bluesy and inspiring sound even on its own. Otherwise, classic position 2 and 4 with split coil on the Generator set pairs so well with this little fellow - no phase issues with slug coils. Cable work on these is outstanding, they are sturdy and have a braided coating. Color of choice during purchase was provided as an extra cover for a super easy swap (from white to black) before installing.
Overall, it's a huge recommend on my part - I'm sure the whole set is great, as per other reviews, if you're planning to upgrade on an SSS or HSS configuration.

City Limits Bridge

Outstanding value for the money, fitted to 1990 PRS EG3, absolutely transformed the guitar, neck and middle pickups are the Oe Seymour Duncan’s, the C’Limits compliments them nicely with a a bit more raunch in the bridge position, happy to recommend. EB

Very happy with my upgrade

Having upgraded my 2005 Washburn X20 Pro, which originally featured uninspiring stock single-coil pickups in an HSS configuration, the installation of the Tonrider City Limits in the neck and middle positions has brought a significant enhancement. These pickups have delivered a noticeably richer and more articulate clean tone, providing a balanced response across the frequency spectrum. The neck pickup offers a warm, full sound ideal for smooth leads and chord voicings, while the middle pickup adds a welcome snap and clarity, particularly effective for rhythm playing and funkier styles. Their balanced output integrates seamlessly with the hotter Birmingham humbucker in the bridge, offering versatile tonal options across the five-way switch. The City Limits have truly elevated the sonic character of my guitar, providing the definition and nuanced response that the original pickups lacked, and I'm very pleased with the clarity and versatility they bring to my playing.
